The RACE-MANIA Summit & Expo is dedicated to helping endurance athletes prepare for the new season and takes place Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Boston University Fit Rec Center in Boston, MA. Event programming is related to running, cycling and swimming — or doing all three together in triathlon! If your main focus is becoming a faster, stronger and injury-free runner, this page is for you.
Register for the All Day Pass (just $5 and 50% is donated to the American Cancer Society) and you can attend all RACE-MANIA seminars and the expo for the entire day. You’ll also have access to all free clinics and workshops and receive a promo code to save $10 on any clinics or workshops that require an additional fee. Or, you can register for the Twilight Pass which is free and gives you access to seminars and the expo starting at 2pm.

Assembling an Effective Fueling Program: Tips for Sports Nutrition On-the-Run from Nancy Clark
With hit or miss meals, eating on the run, and workouts that interfere with standard meal times, many athletes struggle with eating the proverbial “well balanced diet.” This workshop will focus on how to eat to reach your athletic goals. Presented by expert sports nutritionist Nancy Clark, attendees will learn thow organize their eating to give their bodies what it needs, despite a busy lifestyle. The information will help you get more out of your workouts. And as you know… you can only compete at your best if you can train at at your best and you can only train at your best, if, on a daily basis, you fuel at your best. Come with your questions and leave with the answers!

Yoga for Athletes
Join elite runner and yoga instructor Amanda Nurst for this all-levels yoga class geared towards increasing an athletes’ strength, flexibility, balance, agility and endurance through basic postures and breathing techniques. Whether this is your first yoga class or you’re a seasoned yogi, this class will promise to leave you feeling restored and empowered to tackle your next training run or competition.

Preparing for your Best Boston Marathon
A “must attend” for anyone preparing to run in the 2018 Boston Marathon, this information session presented by Ian Nurse, 9x Boston Marathoner, BAA member and chiropractor for the the John Hancock Invited Elite Runners of the Boston Marathon, will give you the info you need to have a successful Boston Marathon race experience an in depth course break down, race week logistics, proper carbo-loading and more.
SwimRun: Everything You Need to Know about the Newest Multisport Craze
Ready for your next multisport endurance challenge? SwimRun is the fastest growing endurance sport today and may be it! Attend this free information session presented by IGNITE SwimRun race series owner and race director, Jay Peluso and learn how the race works, what it takes to compete (or complete), the equipment you’ll need, how to choose the perfect partner and more.
Marathon Physical Therapy Fitness & Wellness & Studio
The Marathon Physical Therapy Fitness and Wellness Studio returns to RACE-MANIA featuring a half day of programming designed to help you avoid injury or figure out what that nagging pain or strain may mean. The day begins with a Dynamic Warm-up Class (infused with yoga) and is follow by opportunities for you to sign up for Video Run Gait Analysis, a Functional Movement Screen or a Pain/Injury Consultation. The Wellness Studio concludes with the class, Functional Cross Training for Endurance Athletes. Heart Health for Endurance Athletes: Facts, Fallacies & Performance Measures
The athletes’ heart is unique because of it’s ability to adapt to training and the environment. This session led by Dr. Brian Bilchik and Kristian Bakken of the Lown Cardiovacular Center will dive into the subject of the health of your heart. Numerous articles have been published over the last few years about the potential damage to the heart overtraining can cause. Attend this session to learn the facts and fallacies of how much is too much training. This session will also include a discussion of performance testing with demonstration of VO2 max testing and how it can be used to measure and improve performance.
