Become a faster, more confident and comfortable cyclist at RACE-MANIA
The RACE-MANIA Summit & Expo is dedicated to helping endurance athletes prepare for the new season and takes place Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Boston University Fit Rec Center in Boston, MA. Event programming is related to cycling, running and swimming — or doing all three together in a triathlon! If your main focus is becoming a faster, more confident and comfortable cyclist when riding in a Gran Fondo, a charity ride or a triathlon, this page is for you.
Register for the All Day Pass (just $5 and 50% is donated to the American Cancer Society) and you can attend all RACE-MANIA seminars and the expo for the entire day. You’ll also have access to all free clinics and workshops and receive a promo code to save $10 on any clinics or workshops that require an additional fee. Or, you can register for the Twilight Pass which is free and gives you access to seminars and the expo starting at 2pm.

Tri Bike or Road Bike: What’s the Best for Me?
If you are relatively new to the sport of triathlon you may be debating whether or not to get a triathlon bike or stick with your road bike. It’s a common dilemma! Attend this workshop brought to you by the experts at Fit Werx where they will explore the differences between road and triathlon bikes in terms of fit and use and help you decide which is best suited for your riding style and key events. You will also learn:
- The fundamentals of bike fit
- The key differences between a road and triathlon bike and which will best suit you
- How a proper bike fitting before you select your bike can help you choose the right bike and improve riding comfort and performance
Targeting and Training for a Cycling Event
If you’re new to competitive cycling or are looking for some advice on how to train for a long distance cycling event or prepare for an entire summer of events, attend this session led by ex-professional cyclist and head coach at Cycle-Smart, Adam Myerson. This clinic we’ll focus on how to plan your training for the season, and how training for the dynamic nature of cycling is different than other endurance sports.

Fast Splits Indoor Bike Time Trial
Athletes in the FastSplits Indoor Bike Time Trial will affix their bikes to CompuTrainers for a simulated experience of riding on the road… you’ll freewheel on the downhill and feel the tension increase as you climb the hills that make up the 10k course. The TT takes place on the RACE-MANIA expo floor which is located inside Boston University’s Fit Rec Center. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest 3 males and 3 females.
Time: Various heats offered throughout the day beginning at 9:00am
Entry Fee: $30
Bike Maintenance Clinics from Landry’s Bicycles
Landry’s Bicycles will be offering free bike maintenance clinics from their booth on the RACE-MANIA expo floor (no registration required… just stop by!). Each of these clinics will include a quick fix-a-flat demo and be led by one of their expert bike mechanics. The flat tire is the common cold of cycling… attend one of these to hone your flat changing skills and learn to take better care of your bike this season. The clinics schedule is as follows:
- 10:00am-11:00am: ABCs of Basic Bike Maintenance
- 12:30pm-1:30pm: Changing Your Tires and Tubes
- 2:30pm-3:30p: Beyond Basic Bike Maintenance
